Register Now for the 2nd Annual Bethany Beach Trip!
The Edgemoor Swim Team trip to Bethany Beach will take place on Friday, June 28th. It will be a fun day of team bonding for all the Dolphins, and a great way to build team spirit as we start the 2019 season. Registration is now open on the SwimTopia events calendar.
Once again, the team is chartering a bus. Swim team families, and older unaccompanied teens, can reserve seats on the bus and enjoy a smooth, hassle-free ride to Bethany Beach. Because of the limited seating, only swim team members and their families are eligible to ride the bus. The first 53 to RSVP will have reserved spots on the bus. Please note:
- Swimmers and accompanying parents may only register for the bus if the swimmers are registered for the team on both SwimTopia and the Edgemoor Club web site. Some families have only registered on SwimTopia to date, so please make sure you’re in both places.
- The bus will depart from Edgemoor around 7:00 am and arrive at the beach around 10:30 am. We’ll gather as a group near the boardwalk, rent umbrellas/chairs and spend the day playing in the waves and sand, and enjoying each other's company.
- Bethany is a small town, with plenty of restaurants, a small arcade, shops, mini golf and a playground within walking distance. So, there is ample opportunity to get out of the sun for lunch, ice cream and entertainment.
- We’ll reload the bus around 4:00pm to return to Edgemoor by 7:30pm that evening.
- The cost is $40 per seat for the bus ride. Please note that families are not required to take the bus. There is ample parking in Bethany ($2/hour), so you can always drive your own car and meet up with the rest of the team at the beach.
This will be a rain or shine trip, barring a hurricane or major weather event. Once you've registered to take the bus, you're registered, and refunds won't be issued.
Edgemoor is providing bus transportation only - the team is not providing supervision of your children. Younger kids will need to be supervised by parents or another clearly designated adult. An accompanying parent can be responsible for any number of their own children. However, to best ensure the safety of children the following also applies:
- Children 11 & under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times. A guardian must be 18 years of age or older.
- Children 12-14 must have a responsible parent/guardian with them on the bus. Parents/guardians may be accountable on the bus for up to three children in this age range, including their own
- Children 15 & over may participate without a parent/guardian present but must have a signed permission release (will be provided later).
- All bus riders will be required to complete a waiver before boarding (will be provided later).
