Practice Groups

Pre-Team:

Swimmers are generally 5-7 year olds who can "swim" (i.e., crawl, paddle) half a length of the pool and put their face in the water, but still need to learn freestyle and backstroke. Pre-Team swimmers do not swim at meets, but are part of the team and parents are encouraged to take them to meets to get them accustomed to the routines and the team rituals. At the end of the season swimmers receive a certificate and parents receive feedback on their child's progress and readiness to advance to a higher level of swimming. The fee is $200.

Junior Dolphins:

Swimmers are generally 6-8 year olds who can swim the length of the pool freestyle and backstroke in good form, have a rudimentary breaststroke and be familiar with butterfly, and be developmentally ready (able to sit still, listen and apply instruction). Junior Dolphins swim in home meets, but are also encouraged to attend away meets to cheer on their teammates. At the end of the season swimmers receive trophies and parents receive feedback on their child's progress and readiness to advance to the competitive level. The fee is $300.

Competitive:

Swimmers can be age 6 or above, but are generally between 8 and 18 years old and can swim consecutive lengths of freestyle and backstroke at a steady pace and have a working breaststroke and butterfly (although may need some help perfecting). Swimmers are expected to swim in all meets, but must swim in at least three divisional meets (one of which may be the Divisional Championships) in order to be eligible to swim at CCSDA Championships. At the end of the season swimmers receive trophies for their participation and performance. The fee is $400.
