Team Swimsuits + Inclement Weather Policy Reminder

Good afternoon,

Just a few more reminders before tomorrow’s Time Trials:

Team Swimsuits + Spirit Wear

Gary from Sports Fair will be on the rear deck of the club tomorrow at 4:30pm before warm-ups (rain or shine) to assist with sizing for anyone who has not purchased a team suit but would like to buy one. The swimsuits purchased tomorrow will be made on-site and available while you wait. We will also be distributing suits purchased on the website tomorrow.

We are awaiting the remainder of the spirit wear and will distribute it at the pool as it comes in. Unfortunately, there is currently a delay with the towels and appreciate your patience.

Inclement Weather Policy - We are monitoring tomorrow’s forecast and have included our inclement weather policy below. If we need to cancel Time Trials, we will use the times from our meet at Kenwood on Tuesday, June 15th.

Meets

  • Swimmers should come to meets rain or shine because decisions about the meet will be made on site. We usually try to get the meets in if weather permits, even if we have to start late or end early.
  • Lightening, thunder, or heavy rains or wind can result in swim meet delays, postponements, or cancelations.
  • Expect a delay of at least 30 minutes after the last citing of either lightening or thunder.
  • In the case of inclement weather, the Referee has the authority to “call” or postpone a meet that has started. If 38 events have been completed, the meet shall be considered completed.

Practices

  • If practice is canceled, you will receive an email from the coaches as soon as a decision is made.
  • We DO NOT swim in thunder, lightning OR heavy rain.
  • We DO swim in light rain but feel that parents should use their best judgment based on their swimmers age, ability and comfort in colder temperatures.
  • We understand that if practice is ON, and you are trying to teach your swimmer(s) commitment, that you want them to come to practice. However, our goal is to have happy swimmers who are ready to learn at practice. We do not want to turn kids off based on a few cold days.

Please feel free to reach out to Stephen or me with any questions.

Best,

Jen
